JOB SUMMARY

The Respiratory Therapy Student will be responsible for performing general respiratory care services. This employee will not be assigned critical care areas or perform ABGs.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Specific:

  • Performs basic respiratory care including oxygen therapy, medication delivery, aerosol therapy, and CPT. (EF)
  • Performs CPR. (EF)
  • Performs patient assessments and reassessments. (EF)
  • Performs EKGs, and pulse oximetry. (EF)
  • Completes all documentation associated with responsibilities. (EF)
  • Keeps all areas stocked and neat in appearance, participates in cleaning of equipment.

Job responsibilities apply to all patient populations including neonate, pediatric, adult and geriatric.

Hospital Responsibilities:
  • Adheres to organization-wide and other applicable policies and procedures.
  • Day-to-day performance complies with the hospitals Service Excellence Behavioral Expectations.
  • Performs within the prescribed limits of the hospitals Ethics, Compliance and Confidentiality Program guidelines.
  • Performs within his/her professional Scope of Practice at all times.

Minimum Requirements:

Required: High School graduate or equivalent. Must have completed 12 months of a JRCRTE approved school for Respiratory Care and currently enrolled.

Required: Basic Life Support
