Job Overview

As an experienced Maintenance Director, you will oversee all aspects of the maintenance department. This critical leadership role involves planning, organizing, and directing the maintenance of equipment, facilities, and infrastructure, as well as overseeing engineering projects to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, prioritize, and execute maintenance tasks in a dynamic and demanding work environment.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of maintenance technicians, fostering a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Oversee maintenance budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions through strong budget management and cost control skills.
  • Manage engineering projects to improve operational efficiency and reliability, demonstrating a track record of successful project management.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to support operational goals and compliance with food safety regulations (e.g., FDA, USDA).
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, applying knowledge of safety regulations and risk management.
  • Utilize data-driven approaches to monitor equipment performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with varying levels of management and team leads, both verbally and in writing, addressing concerns, issues, and potential project pitfalls professionally and diplomatically.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in a relevant field (e.g., mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering).
  • 7+ years of proven experience in maintenance and engineering leadership roles, with a track record of successful project management.
  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of machinery, equipment, and facilities.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, compliance, and risk management.
  • Budget management and cost control skills.
  • Lean/Six Sigma Certification (preferred).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with varying levels of management and team leads, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to communicate concerns, issues, and potential pitfalls of projects professionally and diplomatically.
  • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and execute tasks in a changing and demanding work environment.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and preventative maintenance systems (e.g., CMMS).
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and compliance standards is a plus.
