Responsibilities PURPOSE: Responsible for the safe operation of winders, glue machines, and folder/stackers; packaging finished goods, making quality checks and handling scrap product. Assists with scrap reduction, housekeeping, and maintaining quality standards; observes all safety rules and conducts assigned duties in a safe manner. RESPONSIBILITIES: Follows all Company policies regarding safety, quality and attendance. Performs duties in a safe manner and reports all observed safety hazards to the Senior Operator, Production Supervisor, Team Lead or Safety Manager. Acts as a role model for Safety on shift. Participates in Safety by reporting Unsafe Conditions, Unsafe Acts and Close Calls; makes entries into the Global Data Center (GDC). Ensures a quality product through regular quality checks by reading and verifying line orders and spec sheets. Conducts regular product quality checks as required. Reports any out of spec products to the Senior Operator immediately. Follows all processes and procedures regarding product quality. Accurately and completely fills out quality check sheets to ensure consistent product checks. Properly packages finished goods to include correct use of labels, chips, sleeves, twist ties, pallet patterns and code stamps. Responsible for proper packaging of all finished goods to achieve the best cosmetic presentation possible. Responsible for verifying and executing pallet patterns. Maintains a neat and orderly work area; meets plant and department housekeeping standards. May be assigned additional housekeeping responsibilities throughout the plant as needed to maintain a clean and orderly work space. Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Knowledge normally acquired through completion of a High school diploma or GED is preferred but not required. Experience: In addition to the educational requirements 1 year previous manufacturing experience preferred. Basic knowledge of computers is desired. Must be able to perform repetitive motions in a fast paced environment. Availability to work overtime, extended shifts, weekends, and/or holidays as scheduled. Ability to work collaboratively with others.
